ATTENTION
Here's where we meet, to talk, eat and network!!

Where is this place
you find yourself asking?

Well, we meet at Willie Bird's Restaurant at 1150 South Santa Rosa Ave. We meet on Tuesday mornings at 7:30 am until 8:30 am.

Parking is easy as there are parking spaces on both sides and the back of the restaurant.

We will have access to a closed meeting room, where we will actually be able to hear each other talk.

Our Website Host

We're Still Looking for Some New Members
To borrow a phrase, we're looking for a few good men and women of the same ilk to join us for breakfast on Tuesday mornings. The purpose is to network, share views and enjoy the meeting of new people from all business persuasions.

To entice you into joining us, we've come up with some nifty benefits. We intend to provide a Preferred Services Provider Directory, increased web exposure of your business or profession through our web site and member directory, an informative newsletter, featured member of the month and of course, the opportunity for social networking. Pretty good deal, eh?

It's inexpensive...only $120.00 a year, or two payments of $60 each, bi-annually, plus the $20.00 initiation fee (we do understand that times are tough). The benefits have been mentioned before, but you'll have to join to make full use of them.

We'll look forward to seeing you on Tuesday morning at 7:30am, at Willie Bird's on Santa Rosa Ave.

Cheers!

It's Election Time in California

Now is the time to step up and claim your rights of citizenship and vote. Tuesday, June 8th is election day. No matter your political affiliation or beliefs, it's important that you do this civic duty. It's the one thing that gives you control over your elected representatives. You can vote them in, you can vote them out. You can decide where and what is to be spent and what laws will be passed. It's up to you, so vote early and vote often!

It's Also Nearing Election Time for the SRBC

It's also time to consider new officers for the SRBC again. So, begin to think about who you'd like to see as new officers for the next 6 months. We'll have elections on the last meeting of the month, June 29th. There are some clear advantages to running for Club office. You can form club policy, change the Club by-laws, sit at the head table, run the meetings and influence your fellow members (or not). Well, maybe not all of those, but participation in the SRBC provides you with the opportunity to develop your leadership and public speaking skills. It's important to think about supporting the SRBC in this fashion. The pay is nil, the rewards are intangible and sometimes you may feel the ire of your fellow members, but it's all worth it. So, come to the next meeting and begin to develop your slate of officers and platform for the coming half year. We expect to hear some great election speeches or maybe just a few words as to why you're running for office. This is your opportunity to become a leader in our organization. Do it for the SRBC!

SRBC Bylaw Updates

This Tuesday, your President is going to raise the question of revising the Club bylaws to create more exclusiviity in the professional groups our members join under. Currently, we allow up to three members from a particular discipline.

Please think about going down to one member from each profession. The exclusivity derived from such a change may increase our membership as it will seem more favorable to prospective members.

Discussion and a vote to make the change will take place during the meeting.

Don't Forget the SRBC Business Social
Put the evening of June 25th on your calendar for the next SRBC Business Social. To be held from 6pm til 10pm or later if we haven't all fallen asleep, it promises to be a rousing time. Entertainment of a musical nature will be provided by our own David Wasley, John Lewis, Gabe Dunton and others. Of course, we'll have your favorite spirits and some delicious tidbits to nibble upon. Bring your spouse/significant other and any prospective members. Location to be announced by private invitation to all current SRBC members.

SRBC Member News
David Wasley has received his CRPC designation. Well done, Dave! We've also discovered that David likes tobasco-laced coffee. We don't know if that's to wake him up or stir us up.  We've also noted that he prefers pajama formal attire at the SRBC. Check out his cool flannel duds at one of our meetings.

Christie Cooley has a new chic look. Click here for the latest in racer girl fashions.

Melinda Hughes-Berland recently attended a Photoshop CS5 seminar in San Francisco, and in her spare time, refinished an oak door with multiple panels at a client's home in Columbia, CA. Yes, she has a new business...FauxArt Creations. You'll have to ask her about it.

Gabe Dunton
is is the proud father of Sebastian (Seabass) Mathew Dunton, born May 21 and weighing in at 6.5lbs and 18 in. in length. Contrats, from the SRBC!!! Oh, good job, Georgia...<grin>...

Janet Codding had fun supporting the Luther Burbank Rose Festival Parade (116 years old), by being part of the Distinguished Clown Corps. There's a picture she was passing around at the last meeting, ask her to show it to you. Love that red nose!

Pat Mitchell recently hooked up with Melinda Hughes-Berland and drove to a pheasant farm. She wanted to bring home some pheasant hens for her yard and resident male pheasant. Pat, are you starting a new career in the "procurement" business? She says she hopes to see many more wild pheasants in the near future. We suspect her male pheasant feels the same way.

Ed Berland of Berland Design Group is planning a 9 day motorcycle ride for the last week of July-first week of August. Anyone want to go motorcycle camping?

Featured Member of the Month for June
We're still working on the June Member's webpage....as soon as it's done, we'll send out a notice. Stay tuned!

SRBC Membership Drive...it's Still Going On!
For the month of June, we're still having a membership drive. The individual that brings in the most new members will have their choice of breakfasts at one meeting, compliments of the Club treasury. Yes, you get to eat for free...as much as you'd like, and the Club will pay for it. However, it does require some work...you have to recruit some new members. Check your list of business associates and see if one or more of them is a good fit for the SRBC. Bring them down for a meeting...the Club will pay for their breakfast. Remember, if we don't continually add new members, it will be difficult to provide those leads and referrals we're all looking for.
