ATTENTION
Here's where we meet, to talk, eat and network!!

Where is this place
you find yourself asking?

Well, we meet at Willie Bird's Restaurant at 1150 South Santa Rosa Ave. We meet on Tuesday mornings at 7:30 am until 8:30 am.

Parking is easy as there are parking spaces on both sides and the back of the restaurant.

We will have access to a closed meeting room, where we will actually be able to hear each other talk.

Things We Like

Hurray, We Had Our First SRBC Business Social

On Wednesday, June 24th in the early evening, the SRBC gathered at the home of Ed and Melinda to enjoy one of the benefits of SRBC membership. The first of many SRBC TGIF (or W in this instance) business socials, this event gives fellow members a chance to get to know one another in a non-business environment and to invite prospective members to something that is a bit less daunting than appearing in the early a.m. on Tuesdays, at our regular meetings.

While hosted by the Berland's, the credit for this event coming off in such a superlative fashion goes to SRBC Vice-President Debbie Wallace. She arranged for the catering, purchased liquid refreshment and loaded it all in her SUV to bring to the event. Thanks for all the effort. The food was outstanding!

It must be said that we could have had better attendance, as a few people who had planned to attend did not show up. However, there were plenty of folks having a great time. Club President Cam Turner was there with significant other, Rebecca and their son, Sebastian (who is so cute he should be in the movies). Bill HIlllendahl was there, keeping his status complete as the perennial late arrival. James Blair was in attendance, minus his wife, who was involved with another competing event. club VP Debbie Wallace was in the house, as well. Melinda and Ed were there (if only to keep the cats from escaping) and Ed invited prospective SRBC member, Jesse Bilyeu to the event, as well. Jesse is an illustrator and instructor at SRJC.

Lots of great conversation and many, many subjects were covered. Some insights were shared and maybe a secret or two, revealed.

Of course, you had to be there....so, next time check your calendar and mark the date well in advance (we'll try to avoid any anniversaries or birthdays).

Thanks to all that attended and made it successful. It was a wonderful evening.

Congratulations to Featured Member, Melinda Hughes-Berland

Succumbing to pressure from SRBC members (well, maybe one at least), Melinda has seen fit to grace this page with her biographical information, as member of the month for July, 2009.

Melinda is married to fellow SRBC member, Ed Berland and they share parenting (or are slave) of 4 bengal cats. Melinda has an adult son, David, who is a carpenter.

Her hobbies include tennis, equestrian activities, china painting, reading, photo-painting (see HorsesRArt.com for samples of her work) and the care and feeding of previously mentioned husband.

Melinda is most noted for her skills as a master photographer and she has numerous awards and credentials strewn about her photo studio, indicating her proficiency with her craft.

Her least known fact is that she is ...not telling! You'll just have to ask her to find out.

You can read more about Melinda at her featured member page, here.

If you're interested in the services that Melinda provides, you can contact her at Hughes Photography, 707.575.8301 or through her website, www.Hughes-Photography.com.

Birthdays

We know Deepinder had one in June, but we don't have the exact date. Anyway, Happy Birthday Deepinder!

Want to Be a Featured Member of the SRBC?

Now's the time to think about becoming a featured member of the SRBC. How do you do that? Easy! Take a look at the Featured Members page, then write something about yourself. Have someone take a picture of you. Then, submit what you've got to the Club secretary. He'll make sure the webmaster puts it up on the website. Don't worry about length, or writing style as we can edit for you, if necessary. We'll also create a link to your business or service website...free advertising for you.

It's just that simple!

We're Still Looking for Some New Members

To borrow a phrase, we're looking for a few good men and women of the same ilk to join us for breakfast on Tuesday mornings. The purpose is to network, share views and enjoy the meeting of new people from all business persuasions.

To entice you into joining us, we've come up with some nifty benefits. We intend to provide a Preferred Services Provider Directory, increased web exposure of your business or profession through our website and member directory, an informative newsletter, featured member of the month and of course, the opportunity for social networking. Pretty good deal, eh?

So, now's the time to "volunteer"....and begin your membership in the Santa Rosa Breakfast Club!

It's inexpensive...only $120.00 a year, or two payments of $60 each, bi-annually, plus the $20.00 initiation fee (we do understand that times are tough). The benefits have been mentioned before, but you'll have to join to make full use of them.

We'll look forward to seeing you on Tuesday morning at 7:30am, at Willie Bird's on Santa Rosa Ave.

Cheers!
