ATTENTION
Here's where we meet, to talk, eat and network!!

Where is this place
you find yourself asking?

Well, we meet at Willie Bird's Restaurant at 1150 South Santa Rosa Ave. We meet on Tuesday mornings at 7:30 am until 8:30 am.

Parking is easy as there are parking spaces on both sides and the back of the restaurant.

We will have access to a closed meeting room, where we will actually be able to hear each other talk.

Things We Like

HOW’S YOUR CONFIDENCE?

We all have moments where we wish we could stand up in front of a crowd of strangers and talk, without feeling totally foolish, with some humor, not too much, and on point! Right? What is it that get’s in our way?

Our confidence is an attribute we need to nurture all the time, not just when we have to ‘come up with the goods’ at a business presentation or family gathering. Here’s a few tips from the top, that may help you through.

1. Always show real appreciation when given a gift or a compliment. Learning how to receive a compliment is a mark of a well founded self-esteem.

2. Try to avoid nagging or being critical. Just imagine a volume control, and lower the volume.

3. Cut the bragging. People who brag about their own exploits or demand special attention are simply trying to build themselves up in the eyes of others, and that’s because they don’t perceive themselves as already worthy of respect.

4. When doing something for the first time, imagine you have already done it. Your mind doesn’t know the difference between vividly imagined and real.

5. Greet others with a smile and look them in the eye. This is another mark of self-respect.

6. Find someone already confident in your area of interest and watch how they do it.

7. Act as if you already have the habit or behavior you desire. If you were confident, how would you be feeling? What would you be thinking? With practice, your behavior becomes habit.

NEWS FLASHES

Recently Bill Hillendahl, who gave us a very interesting presentation about HAM Radio, has been re-elected to the position of Section Manager for the San Francisco Section of the American Radio Relay League! Beginning October 1st, this 2 year term will complete an 8 year run in office. We are proud of Bill for his voluntary work in Amateur Radio that has made a considerable contribution to the efficiency of our wonderful emergency services. Thank you and well done!

Ed Berland of Berland Design Group has secured two new projects within the last week. One is with a client who has relocated to the Vermont area but has retained his services for some website upgrade work, particularly in the area of search engine optimization. The other came from a referral and is website development along with brochure design for a wedding venue in Sonoma County. Well done, Ed!

The news from our President’s business is also good. Jim Headley’s Quality Shoots now has 37 clients and is handling 37 acres, ranging from 4 acres to 100 vines. He say’s that this success at the early stages of this business is due to the company’s policy – and that would be ‘Quality’. Jim is a family man, and together with his wife Bonnie, their 4 children from ages 5 thru 15 definitely keep them busy, as well as fulfilled! His note for the wine business this year is that selling is going to be hard. There is a good supply of fruit, but the demand is generally down, bringing the price with it. We’d better all drink to that!

Want to Be a Featured Member of the SRBC?

Now's the time to think about becoming a featured member of the SRBC. How do you do that? Easy! Take a look at the Featured Members page, then write something about yourself. Have someone take a picture of you. Then, submit what you've got to the Club secretary. He'll make sure the webmaster puts it up on the website. Don't worry about length, or writing style as we can edit for you, if necessary. We'll also create a link to your business or service website...free advertising for you.

It's just that simple!

We're Still Looking for Some New Members

To borrow a phrase, we're looking for a few good men and women of the same ilk to join us for breakfast on Tuesday mornings. The purpose is to network, share views and enjoy the meeting of new people from all business persuasions.

To entice you into joining us, we've come up with some nifty benefits. We intend to provide a Preferred Services Provider Directory, increased web exposure of your business or profession through our website and member directory, an informative newsletter, featured member of the month and of course, the opportunity for social networking. Pretty good deal, eh?

So, now's the time to "volunteer"....and begin your membership in the Santa Rosa Breakfast Club!

It's inexpensive...only $120.00 a year, or two payments of $60 each, bi-annually, plus the $20.00 initiation fee (we do understand that times are tough). The benefits have been mentioned before, but you'll have to join to make full use of them.

We'll look forward to seeing you on Tuesday morning at 7:30am, at Willie Bird's on Santa Rosa Ave.

Cheers!
