Daniela Pavone

Scott PustayDaniela “Danie” Pavone likes to say she is a California native, born and raised, but this is not entirely true.  Danie was actually born in Weisbaden, Germany, and spent the first six months of her life there before arriving in the San Jose area with a dual United States/German citizenship. A few years later she was packed up and moved to Southern California, where she stayed until college.

Tired of perfect weather, but not brave enough to move anywhere with 100 degree heat or heavy snow, Danie left behind her parents and four year old sister and attended the University of Puget Sound (“UPS”) in Tacoma, Washington. At UPS Danie hosted an 80’s radio show for three years, ran the Campus Films program for two years, and was on the crew team for about three months, dropping out after learning how early she would have to get up most mornings.

For the last two years of college Danie had a job assisting the Head of Marketing for the Tacoma Raniers, a AAA baseball team and farm team for the Seattle Mariners, where she was in charge of making sure all of the in game promotions (and there were a lot of them) went off without a hitch. After graduating from UPS in 1999 with a B.S. in Business Administration & Marketing and a minor in Psychology, she moved back to sunny Southern California.

In Los Angeles, Danie worked in television production on an array of different shows and positions, her favorite title being her short stint as an Assistant Visual Effects Coordinator. After two years in production, Danie moved to a position that better suited her interests and skills and began working in television development for Warner Bros. TV where she spent her days reading scripts, meeting with writers, matching ideas with writers, and then helping to develop each idea into a marketable script which would then be pitched to studios and networks. The last few years she was even able to work for a childhood idol – the most respected solo female producer in the film industry.  Though she thoroughly enjoyed the work (and the perks), she knew that staying in the entertainment industry was not something she would still be enjoying in 20 years. So, she reassessed, moved to Orange County to attend law school.

Danie graduated from Chapman University School of Law in May 2007, with an emphasis in Environmental, Land Use and Real Estate Law. Initially her passion for protecting the environment and love of the ocean led her to this emphasis and as she took more classes, learned that the issues surrounding private property rights fascinated her as well.

After working in maritime law for awhile in Newport Beach, Danie and her boyfriend decided they were finally done with Southern California and moved where her parents had eight years prior, to Santa Rosa. Danie commuted between Santa Rosa and the law firm of Carter & Momsen in Ukiah for two and a half years before deciding to open her own firm in downtown Santa Rosa in December 2010.

Danie’s practice focuses on land use and real estate development, so generally, anything having to do with a property owner’s ability to use his or her property. Her favorite disputes are those involving environmental compliance of new developments, but also enjoys resolving disputes involving water use and access easements.

Danie currently lives in Santa Rosa with her boyfriend and two cats, Cielo and Oz. She enjoys hiking, bike riding, reading, watching movies, and wishes she had more time to just sit on the couch and knit.
